I’m Adam Bourg, it’s nice to meet you.

I'm a Principal Engineer, and lately most of my work is building AI systems that actually run parts of a business — not demos, not chatbot toys bolted onto a landing page. Agentic workflows that answer phones, rebuild websites in an afternoon, and do real market research before a single line of product code gets written. This site is both my writing and my proof of work: most of what's on it was built or researched using the exact tools and process I'd use for a client.

What I actually do

I design and build agentic AI systems — using tools like Claude Code and the Claude API — for problems that have a real, checkable outcome: a call that gets answered, a lead that gets captured, a site that gets rebuilt faster and cleaner than the manual version. I’m equally comfortable being hands-on with the engineering (I’ve been writing software since I was 13, self-taught and college-educated) and thinking about the business case for why a given system should exist at all.

I also carry a HIPAA/compliance background from prior healthcare software work, which shapes how I think about AI systems that touch real customer data — security and compliance aren’t an afterthought bolted on at the end.

Outside of client work

Web development still holds a special place for me, especially JavaScript — I find it fun and flexible while being genuinely powerful. My longer-running technical interests are JavaScript memory management (I keep meaning to write a book or video series on it), WebAssembly, and building systems that scale without becoming unmanageable.
